It’s difficult to imagine Chicago without the iconic geometry of angles and architecture that separate its vast blue sky from the oceanlike Lake Michigan. It all started in 1884 with the world’s very first skyscraper: the 10-story Home Insurance building: Since then, Chicago has borne some of the grandest structures – and views – in the country, if not the world. This walk weaves through lush parks and concrete vistas, showing how skyline and shoreline live in harmony.
This walk was carefully put together by Lauren Viera, author of The 500 Hidden Secrets of Chicago. It is INCLUDED IN THE GUIDE but can also be bought separately. Either way, this 2.8 miles/4,5 kilometre route will take you to hidden spots that most tourists never find.
The walk will be available for download as soon as your purchase is complete. The PDF file can be opened on mobile or printed.
